USC loses a cornerback to injury before Michigan State game

Michigan State football isn’t the only program dealing with some injury woes right now. Ahead of their late-night match-up on Saturday against the Spartans, USC head coach Lincoln Riley informed the media that cornerback Chasen Johnson has suffered a season-ending knee injury.

This is obviously a huge blow to the Trojans, who have been spotty on defense already. Johnson, who transferred to USC from Central Florida, had just started to come around for USC and they were increasing his snap count after sustaining a minor injury in fall camp.

USC had already been playing without Johnson as a starter, and that will now continue, as the Trojans will lean on DJ Harvey, Braylon Conley, and Marcelles Williams to carry the load on the defensive perimeter.
