LSU football is heading to a familiar spot for its bowl game — the Tigers are in the Texas Bowl for the second straight year, according to a report from On3. One year after beating Baylor, LSU will face Houston on Dec. 27. The game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. CT and be broadcast on ESPN.
At 7-5, LSU is bowl eligible for a fifth-straight year. Interim head coach Frank Wilson is expected to remain at the helm through the bowl, even though his future status on Lane Kiffin’s staff remains unclear.

This won’t be the first time LSU heads to the Texas Bowl with an interim head coach. LSU faced Kansas State in 2021 with offensive line coach Brad Davis acting as the interim after Ed Orgeron left the program.
Houston enters at 9-3 with a chance to reach double-digit wins. That would be a big accomplishment for head coach Willie Fritz in just his second year leading the program. Houston OC Slade Nagle was LSU’s tight ends coach in 2024.
Not much is at stake for LSU in this one, but it will give LSU’s youngsters a chance to earn some more experience ahead of 2025.
