Ravens signing former Steelers running back ahead of Week 14 matchup

The Baltimore Ravens are making moves ahead of their Week 14 matchup against Pittsburgh, as they are reportedly signing former Steelers RB Jonathan Ward to their practice squad.

On Tuesday, KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson reported Ward would sign with the Ravens’ practice squad following a successful workout, a solid move for Baltimore’s depth after placing RB Justin Hill on injured reserve last week.

Signing a one-year contract with Pittsburgh in May 2024, Ward appeared in four games primarily in a special teams role while spending time on and off the practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Steelers in January 2025 but was released in June.

Ward then signed with the New York Giants but was released as a part of final roster cuts. He spent a little time with the New England Patriots’ practice squad shortly after, before landing in Baltimore for potentially his 2025 regular season debut against Pittsburgh, should the Ravens call him up for a depth role.
