🎥 Match in Switzerland called off, so the men became boys again

In the Swiss Super League, the match between FC Lugano and FC St. Gallen was abandoned at halftime last weekend. The reason was an unplayable pitch due to massive rainfall in Switzerland. 

However, “unplayable” was only partially accurate in this context. Yes, football was no longer possible that evening, but some players decided not to let the fun be spoiled and quickly turned the pitch into their personal water playground. 

In the end, the three points were not awarded to the club whose player slid the furthest on the wet grass, but one could still speak of a happy ending. 

The match will be replayed on Wednesday, November 26, at 7 PM and will start again at 0-0, according to the league association. “All match statistics and warnings will be deleted,” the league’s statement said.
