Real Madrid: Xabi Alonso wants to take inspiration from Ancelotti

Xabi Alonso, the new Real Madrid manager, has hinted that he may look to Carlo Ancelotti for inspiration when it comes to playing Vinicius and Rodrygo together.

Under Ancelotti, the two Brazilians often played on opposite flanks, but so far Alonso has chosen to alternate them: one usually starts while the other is on the bench.

After watching Brazil’s 5-0 win over South Korea, Alonso believes a more fluid system—where Rodrygo can play centrally and rotate with Vinicius—could be a viable option for the future. In short, Alonso is open to offensive rotations to get the best out of his attacking talents.
