Boston College Men’s Hockey 2025 Roster Countdown: #8 Lukas Gustafsson

Last Season: Gustafsson remained a key figure on the Eagles blue line during his junior season, skating in 35 games while putting up two goals and 13 assists, good for the second points most among BC defensemen on the season. He didn’t produce many points towards the end of the season, picking up just one assist in the team’s final 11 games, but it was still a strong overall junior campaign from Gustafsson.

Season Outlook: Gustafsson has been a pretty similar player for all of his three seasons at Boston College and there’s no reason to expect him to change his game much as a senior. He’ll likely be part of the team’s top four defenseman at even strength and he could see some time on both the power play and the penalty kill. He’ll chip in with a bit of offense (he’s been between 15 and 19 points for his entire BC career) but his biggest impact will be as a steady, calming presence on the blue line. He’s had a very sold career to this point and hopefully he’ll be able to finish things off with his best season so far.
