🔥 Sassuolo hit 2 in 12 mins 😱 Udinese VAR nightmare: 2 pens denied 📸

A blistering start for Sassuolo against Udinese in the “lunch match” of the fifth round of Serie A.

It takes just 12 minutes for the home team to lead 2-0, while in the second half of the match, the Friulians protest over two penalties revoked by VAR.

The first minutes of the match are all marked Sassuolo: the Neroverdi unlock the score with Armand Laurienté after just 8′ of play.

Decisive is Pinamonti’s assist for Berardi, who serves the Frenchman in open field. Laurienté easily overcomes the very young Palma and beats Sava.

The doubling comes shortly after: at 12′ it’s Ismael Koné who strikes.

The Frenchman is served by Laurienté and once again it’s Palma who ends up in the crosshairs and concedes the decisive space.

Udinese tries to react and on two occasions a foul in the area is whistled by referee Perenzoni. On both occasions, however, the match director, called to the On Field Review, revokes his initial decision.

At 27′ there is a contact between Laurienté and Zaniolo in the Neroverdi penalty area, initially sanctioned with a penalty and then transformed into an attacking foul by Udinese.

At 39′ similar situation: Solet anticipates Waluckiewicz, who commits a foul on the Frenchman, at least according to Perenzoni’s initial interpretation.

After the OFR the referee however backtracks, ruling that the Pole had intervened on the ball in a non-foul manner.
