Major breakthrough as Man United agree transfer formula for 62-app star

Manchester United have reportedly agreed to send Rasmus Hojlund on loan to AC Milan who have now emerged as the favourites to sign the striker.

The Red Devils have been revamping their attacking department this summer. They have already recruited Matheus Cunha in June, Bryan Mbeumo in July, while Benjamin Sesko is on his way to finalising his transfer, following an agreement with RB Leipzig worth €85 million.

On the other hand, INEOS must offload a host of players in order to make room for the new arrivals, and raise funds to address their other departments, particularly signing a new midfielder and a goalkeeper.

While Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia have all been omitted from Ruben Amorim’s plans, Hojlund has been leading the line for Man Utd in their pre-season friendlies. And yet, the Dane could become the first out of the door.

The 22-year-old is coming off a miserable campaign where he only managed to score four goals in the Premier League. In his two years at Old Trafford, he made 62 Premier League appearances, contributing with 14 goals and three assists.

With Sesko on his way to Carrington, Hojlund could soon become surplus to requirements, especially in the absence of European football this season.

The Rossoneri have been negotiating with the Red Devils over the past few days, and according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Man Utd have now agreed to send the player to Milan on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.

The San Siro outfit will now attempt to convince the player who appears reluctant to leave United. He recently stated that he would be happy to stay and fight for his place in the lineup.

At Milan, Hojlund would only have to compete for a starting role against Santiago Gimenez, as the club had parted ways with Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic this summer.
